When you look at these bottles of chemicals, you think of old apothecaries, a place that might still have a leach jar some place. They would mix the chemicals to make medicine.
But this isn't 1890, its 1939 and they still make medicine even today right now. It's of course not FDA approved. But they can custom make the medicine just for you.
You can see the pharmacist at work, carefully measuring ingredients for a customer. Or its quite possible he's pouring himself a drink. There are certainly enough alcoholic liquids to choose from. I think its interesting that there is a pay phone next to him, but there are no buttons on it. And the pesticide sitting on that large drum is a nice touch.
