You really have to admire the woodwork in these old places. In its day people probably took it all for granted, and that's why carpenters probably don't do it today, that and its expensive.
This is a pharmacy in Nerchinsk Russia, the molding they have is typical of old Russian cabinetry. I don't know if all Russian pharmacies looked like this though. I do find it interesting that they use triangles at the top and not arches like we use in America.
What's also interesting is seeing all the other products on the shelves. Typically you would see rows of chemicals on the shelves, this only has a few small bottles. Which makes me think that this store was a lot larger, and this was one corner. There is no cash register on this corner, so I'm probably right. I don't know how he took things down, there is no rail for a ladder. He probably used a normal ladder, which may be the reason why so many molding parts have been knocked off.
