This image was a part of a stereopticon, as an amusing tale of truth that they could all relate to in the day. I do know they chose the perfect child for this, he looks like the Antichrist in an apron, and he has no eyebrows, I guess that was fashionable at the time. Its hard to know if this was a real treatment in this store, or if this was a real store at all. I do know the names in the background are real, and the device is real, he's even standing on a box with glass legs. I can't decide if he has a toothache or a headache. He probably had a headache after though. There was a second image of this with his mouth open probably screaming.
This is one of those curious medical quackery's they had in the Victorian Era. They would create really fancy looking, steampunk like, machines, and the fancier it looked, the more they could charge.
About Mike Savad

My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
