Moon pie, isn't really a pie at all, it's actually more like a cookie. It's an American invention, it consists of two round graham crackers, with a marshmallow center then dipped in chocolate. It's sort of like smores, only it has no melted components or pieces of left over branch.
It's said that the first moon pie was invented in 1917. It was going to be peddled to miners, the cookie was larger as large as the "moon", it was sold for around 5 cents.
