Description
Years ago, scientists warned people, that if you don't take care of the environment, the ice caps will melt, and it will flood the earth. But many ignored the warnings, as when it happens its not instant, it happens gradually until there is no more land left.
That's what happened, the sea rose up a great deal and it flooded entire cities, mountains became small islands. Only large industrial facilities survived. Before the great flood, many of these facilities were positioned way above sea level, of course now they are right at sea level.
Because land is so limited, people had to find creative ways to both travel and live. Many either lived in these large buildings, or they took the the air and spent most of their time traveling. They would stop at outposts like these to either refuel or get food, sometimes there was room enough to sleep for the night. It's ironic though, that building like these are what caused the earth to get warmer in the first place, and now they are our salvation.
They say that the waters may recede some day, but it won't be soon. It's really hard to believe that no one took it seriously. It wasn't that hard to prevent this from happening. When I was young, I was told these stories, of how politicians would actually go outside on a cold winter's day, and bring in a snow ball, showing everyone how "warm" it is outside. That if the earth is warming, how can there be snow outside. Today we call these people idiots. It doesn't take much heat to make the ice caps melt, just a degree or two makes all the difference.
