Original Title: Washington man sleeps in a blanketless bed
Location: Washington DC
This is a weird one, an inventor by the name of Milton Fairchild, invented an easy bake oven, for humans. He didn't like the scent of his own body odor when under the blankets. And instead of say, just bathing he basically created his own personal coffin.
Inside this box there were four 40w bulbs, each controlled to a switch so he could cool it by turning a bulb off. He had counterweights to lift the thing off in case of a bathroom emergency. They didn't say what he did to put this thing away in the summer. Nor did they mention if he ever got or stayed married after, because this thing just won't work well in a bedroom.
Just be glad this didn't catch on, or you would have one instead of an electric blanket. I do wonder if tanning beds were designed after this.
