The one thing I don't like about this is, the thumbnail looks bad. As a small image, the steam messes up the flow, makes it hard to notice. The locomotive itself is cool though. I was happy it had some kind of color, it would have been bland it if was train colored. I was hoping for red though.
This locomotive on the right was made pre-war, and was going to pull some fancy passenger line. But after only 9 were made, they decided these would pull a long haul train, because these were pretty powerful. The ones they ended up pulling their shorter line were diesel based.
They still put them to work though, they were painted green to match the passenger cars. They were used till 1953, then all 9 of them were cut up as scrap metal.
