Location: Either Canada or London
With a steampunk origin, this is a Gas-Electric hybrid built by the Commercial Motor Vehicle Co of Windsor Ontario. Each wheel had an electric motor, it was 20ft long and had an 81in track. The four cylinder engine produced 20 HP. The truck was sent to England to visit "every town and village in the country". But because it was so under powered, it never made it out of London, and is presumably left in England.
The Canadian Pacific Railway and parts of Canada financed this. It's probably why it looks a bit like a train and has pinstriping everywhere. The railway won this bet, as they got money from ticket sales for their trains and steamships. The people however didn't know how to farm and mostly failed.
I got the details for this thing from another site, and they got it from some trucking magazine from the 1970s. I repaired the back of it, it was missing parts.
I felt this thing was made up to look like a circus tent, so I went with fun, bright colors. Something that would totally attract attention than a vehicle such as this. They didn't show what was inside but it may have had fruit from Canada. Which I'm still not sure how they kept fresh sending it over the ocean.
The rear of this thing, the background didn't have any, it just sort of trails off, which is annoying because of the alignment of the wall. The hardest part about this image was the lettering, because each one had 3 segments. Each with its own color.
