Description
A cabinet maker is only as good as his tools, and these are some of them. Wood planes come in all sizes and shapes. Each has a special use, scrub planes will let you finish a board and allow the height to be the same, dado planes give you a dado groove. Different planes allow for different finishes. Molding planes come in hundreds of different styles. They are used to make molding on things. A large carpentry shop will have a wall of these. Today we use router bits.
The draw knife was probably used more in the past than the present. It's used to shape spindles for the most part, its a handy tool to have if you know how to use it. Often it was used to remove bark from trees.
