Artist's Description
Colorized photo from 1941 Apr
Original title: JH Parham, barber and notary public in his shop
Location: Centralhatchee, Georgia
This is a small town, and everyone has two jobs. This guy is a barber and a town notary. Which is a lot better combo then a baker/plumber. Anyway, this is one of a series of people in this shop, but this one won. Mostly because I liked the Rockwell feel to it.
The lighting, I will say is a sunset, because that's how I colored it, but it may be another flash on the other side of the room. You can see one of the reflections on the window.
I left the walls as wood tones, because I didn't see any paint. The guy really loves his soap, he has a ton of it, a nice box of hair (for the people that bald). And one large curious jar marked Poison, but not what's in it.
About Mike Savad
My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
