Kids had it hard back in the day, they worked all day long. Working often as long as 15 hours, working in the rain, cold, heat and into the night. So it wasn't all that uncommon to see children at night going home after a long hard day of working.

This almost looks like a Thomas Kincade image with the lighting. I know he does not get the respect he deserves, but he was a master of light, and I like his work and this particular image as well.
