Magical work!

Artist's Description

Colorized photo from 1900
Original Title: West St
Location: West St and Liberty St, NY

Despite being a major hub, there was actually very little info about this station, I was only able to find that it closed in 1960. The color came from a single postcard of this location, only from an angle that was different to this one. The building shown in that was mostly yellow and brown. Which is actually an ideal color. This has so much chaos in it, it creates a perfect focal point. I decreased the colors of the wagons so they eye could glide over it better.

This one was tough to shade in, because of the amount of tangle it had. There were times where several carts would overlap and create an illusion, hard to sort out what piece went to what.

This area is now the Financial district in NY, right near the freedom tower.

About Mike Savad

Mike Savad

My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
