Description
The rocktrumpet is the common name for Mandevilla, which is a genus of tropical and subtropical flowering vines belonging to the dogbane family, Apocynaceae. Mandevilla species are native to the Southwestern United States, Mexico, Central America, the West Indies, and South America with several species originating from the Serra dos Órgãos forests in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The flowering vine is a popular garden plant in Florida. This image displays a green anole perched on the vine waiting for her next meal. "Rocktrumpet And Green Anole" is a digital composite / painting derived from original photos.

Beautiful composite work, Matthew. Love our little green anoles.
M Spadecaller replied:
Thank you, Helen. They are not as common as they used to be, but they remind me of the Florida I used to know.
