Artist's Description
Colorized photo from 1905
Original Title: NY Central RR coming thru
Location:225 E Washington St, Syracuse, NY
The NY Empire state express is right on time.
Can you imagine what this must have been like? Crossing the street, you hear a bell, you hear a whistle, you feel the ground tremble, you see people frantically waving their hands about. You feel honored, very welcomed in this new town, people are so friendly, shouting out at you. Then a train runs you over.
In this small town of Syracuse, NY, it was common to have a large passenger train fly through the middle of town. Without too much warning, a guy with a flag stops traffic on one side, no barricades, and oddly no problems. People there seem pretty much used to it.
I guess in those days, you got used to the smell of smoke and steam drifting into your hotel window. And all the glasses rattling in the bar.
About Mike Savad
My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
