Korean traditional dancing, uses moves that follow a curvilinear (has both curves and lines) path, with a short term repetition. The dancer's legs and feet are often concealed by a billowing Hanbok. There are emotional elements as well that include both somberness and joy. The dancer must have a fluid motion that surges through the traditional music.

Korean dancing is often performed with Korean traditional music, which consists of traditional drums, flues and more. There are many different kinds of dancing, the fan dance is just one of them.
