Description
Y is for Yellow Goggles
In the turn of the last century, people wore all sorts of things to cover their eyes. Aviators would wear flight goggles made of leather, and bombers would have special goggles that had slits instead of lenses to protect them from shrapnel. People in cars would wear them to keep the bugs out of their eyes before windshields were invented.
However adventures wanted a version for themselves. Yellow brass goggles were created to fill that need. Brass is a durable metal, yet if dented is easy to work out. Worn with great pride, each one unique. Each designed for someone specific in mind, many home built made from stuff they found. Sometimes they looked like a set of binoculars, others irises that helped a person see better when it was too bright. Sometimes magnifying glasses were added. All in all goggles were very helpful.
