Original Title: Str. no. 190, main engine in shop, 3 cyln. compound-inclined type, [probably in Wyandotte, Mich.
Location: 1801-1803 Atwater Street in Detroit, Michigan
This very large thing, is a chunk of the main engine for a steam ship. They are currently inspecting the parts before it goes on board. The guys in the back are the workers that made it, and will probably never get the credit for their work.
This building, The Detroit Dry Dock Company, just barely exists today, I think it was made in 1840 or so, and they built many steam ships inside of it. By 2014, the building stood proud, despite the broken windows and graffiti it was covered with. They since turned this building into something else, while keeping a little bit of this factory intact.
My name is Mike Savad, I create one of a kind images. Photo realistic, is what people think of first. I specialize in job themes, such as Pharmacist, Doctor, Firemen, Lawyer, etc. Steampunk is another favorite. I'm certain you will find something that you will like. My art is inspired by Norman Rockwell and Paintings from the time of the Renaissance. Be sure to visit my Scene in Color section. I expertly restore and colorize black and white images. See the past come alive with color. Each image is painstakingly cleaned and repaired, colors are researched and shaded in. Images are designed to coordinate with the rest of my collection. The past was far more colorful than you would have imagined. Want something fun to do? Sometimes I hide...
