Location: Near Farmer City, Ill
The full sized color image has the detail about what kind of locomotives these are and who did what to cause this. The basic story is, one guy looked at his watch and was 14 minutes off. The other engine, saw it coming, and hit the breaks, stopping, just before the engine moving at full speed hit it.
One person died, quite a few cars crushed into each other, the ones with metal cars were fine. Both engineers jumped, and though they had some gruesome leg injuries, they lived. But I don't know which car is which as far as fault goes. The location was near Farmer city, but it was on a bend, and there was a bend like this in Farmer city, but who knows. This may be photo distortion as well, hard to tell.
