Wouldn't it be neat to have a locomotive that was made entirely of instruments? Imagine the joys when you heard it on the tracks, it would sound like a marching band was coming through. Or an organized group of jazz players.
The engine was designed to emphasize the CHOO CHOO part of the train. The main part of the engine still has the normal parts you would find on a typical locomotive, because instruments don't hold up well to constant fire.
But the rest is outfitted with all sorts of brass tubing and parts, driven by steam and played by professionals riding it. The only hard part would be draining the spit valves on a regular basis.
