This is the Steel pier from around 1909, they gave an date range of 1900-15, but there was a small sign in the center, the fad of 1909. So based on that its probably 1909, because if 1910, why would anyone want an old fad? And if it was 1908, how would anyone know?
I'm not sure what's going on in the sand, if its a demonstration or some kind of contest, there are a few adults building nice things and a few kids who are making piles of sand taller. That mark in the sand that looks like a body was dragged out to sea, I think that was a changing hut.
That thing on the lower area that looks like a macaroni, I think that is a map kiosk according to another picture. I made it green, and not macaroni colored (that was going to be the color), I found a postcard that had it that color.
I'm certain this was a partly cloudy day with the clouds in front of the sun. Many have umbrella's out, some away, some none at all. The lights were the most annoying part to color on this. I do think they were on, either way I think they add something.
This location does exist today, only it looks totally different, the pier we are on, is gone. And the buildings on the left were removed to make room for the failed Taj Mahal, now a Hard Rock Hotel.
