This image is a two frame panorama. One that which did not properly align, I tried every which way to get it to line up. I ended up having to do it by hand and blending it in down the seam. I think they changed their nodal point just a bit so the wood below was at a different angle. And what is all that coal for? Are they just holding it there?
I would love to know some of the back story of this area. For example look at the dock directly below, its smashed up. If you look further up on it, you'll see tracks that just lead off the end in a wavy way. There is another set of tracks more to the right of that, that seems to lead directly into the water.
What is all that wood for? Its stacked almost randomly in spots. At first I thought they were going to load up a boat with it, but there is no mooring point. Just a broken dock. I suppose they could be replacing that doc, but there is a lot of wood there. Maybe they made another building out of it. Maybe I'll find another image from a different angle that will address that.
On the far right near those blue train cars, they are moving around scrap metal. I don't know if they recycled back then or not, but it seems to be going some place. Others have shovels, making me wonder if that was coal or they are cleaning up after a big storm.
And what is the deal with that small house out in the end, just past the cars. It has a picket fence, but its beat up, yet there is a guy working on the roof there. Is that a place to live? Did it go urban around them? It's a weird place to leave a house.
See that cute town on the right? That entire town is missing today. Nothing left but a distant church. I don't know where it went. Did it catch fire? That's a popular reason for a missing town. Today this is all very commercial and not densely packed like it is here.
