Rockaway NY - The Bowery from 1900. The Bowery is/was a place where you can get a snack and basically spent money. It was kind of like a midway at fair, but no rides as far as i know.
However these days, there is very little of this place left. In fact this street has residential houses on it right now. The left side is a parking lot for a condo, and the right side, where that yellow building is, was just recently torn down and replaced with an apartment building. But in its heyday, it was more resort like (being so close to the sea), it had the same look as Coney Island. There was something for everyone. Hot dogs and oysters seemed to be rather popular in this area.
