To go back in time to see how your town looked a hundred years ago, the progress that must have happened would probably be pretty interesting. But what is more interesting is how fast it can happen. This very street, in 10 years, will lose most of those clumsy wires, they will have electric street lamps and all kinds of new signs.
This is Main St, in Poughkeepsie, NY, an old historic street that has many buildings that were build in the 1870s, many of them are still standing today.
This is a restored black and white image I also have a colorized version.
