Description
This is what the future looks like, pretty cool right, flying cities and all. But its not cool, this is what the planet looks like in the year 2182, the earth is flooded. There is very little land to live on, technology hasn't advanced much because the resources are all under water.
Everyone at least 100 miles from the coast had to move inland. No one could ever have foreseen that all the iceberg's would melt. Or that they would contribute to so much water.
But people were warned, at least a 100 years ago, scientists said that global climate change will warm the earth, sea levels would rise, storms would get worse and so on. Many laughed, mostly the petroleum industry, were the main contributors to the crisis and the ones that got in the way.
There were many idiots that claimed it wasn't real, bringing snow inside as if climate changes effects how snow works. Other morons would shout out to crowds, I can't wait for it to flood, look at all the new beach front property we will have.
But instead there were larger storms, with huge waves that destroyed all the coastlines. Everything was beachfront property. Everyone moved inland, but there wasn't enough space. So everyone got together to create cities in the sky. They would take large chunks of land no one was using and send them up above everyone else, above even the storms, so they can live their life. And as long as you didn't get too close to the edge you could live a pretty good life.
People used small modified ships both in the water and in the sky. The city isn't too pretty, and it's not as advanced as you would think. It's all about survival of the human race now. And it's not like anyone learned their lesson. These floating cities use a lot of fuel and make a lot of pollution. But what's the worst that can happen?
