This is Mogollon, New Mexico in 1940, originally this town was a gold mining town. They started the town around 1870-1880, but it started to diminish in the 1940s. As the gold prices dropped, they started to leave, the caves were dusty and full of quartz dust, which is really bad for the lungs.
In its day 3000 people lived and worked there, but by the 1940's it was just a handful. Its quite possible that these people here, were the only people left in the town. It almost makes you wonder what they are talking about. They seem like they are having a good time in there
Today this building is gone, replaced with a house, a large drainage trench replaces that sidewalk. The town has a hotel but its otherwise a museum now, and no one really lives there.
