Colorized photo from 1910
Original title: Passenger (observation) locomotive train car of New York Central RR

Location: Unknown.
This is a weird locomotive. Basically its a normal locomotive, with a passenger car on top of it. Officials ride inside, and they check out the tracks and other buildings. Riding in class, comfy and warm.
Because the top brass of the company would go inside, they made the car as pretty as they could. Pimping it out with pinstripe and brass, making it fun colors. The ones I was able to find in museums, all had bright tractor like colors. Bright green, red etc.
They used these things from 1870-1920, but after the first world war, they stopped. They switched to a more normal passenger car, where they had a fine experience. The crew were always hand picked.
