When I chose this I was thinking, that bright blue bridge will look great in this, it will really stand out. So I looked up this bridge and wanted to know if it was always blue, and it wasn't, it was a brown bridge. They called it Spanish brown, but that had so many variations. I found a few postcards showing that bridge and each had different versions of brown and one was two toned. It looked like different shades of MM's when they had 3 shades of brown. So that's what I did here, giving the curved parts a tan look and the rest chocolate.
The color of the water is a combination of gross river water (had the same color as the Hudson river), and sky reflection.
The boat had only a few postcards and none of them filled in detail. So I copied some of the colors from other boats. Most were all white, some had red, yellow, cream and even blue, so I added that in here. The yellow was added for pop.
The guy that designed this bridge, also designed the Brooklyn bridge in NY.
