Location: Lincoln Park, South Pond, Chicago, IL
Look at the people enjoying themselves. Content with what they have, and note that no one is looking at a phone, they are actually paying attention to the world around them. No real worries or distractions. Well other than the photographer who yelled across the way to stop rowing, hold very still and look at me.
This is Lincoln Park, in Chicago, the South Pond and its bridge in 1905. It's far more ornate and elegant than it is now. This bridge should not be confused with the high bridge or what they liked to call suicide bridge, which was located near here. This bridge is too short for that. No this bridge is used to cross the pond and that's about it.
In its past Lincoln Park had a small marina where people could rent out a boat and just float their cares away. There was a dirt path on the border of the pond, where as today, there is this large wooden gangplank design with railing so no one could fall in. The park in the past and today were still similar, they had the observatory green house, the zoo and open areas to sit.
